British journalist Piers Morgan has signalled he would welcome an opportunity to interview Prince Harry and Meghan Markle, despite being one of the couple's most vocal critics in the media.

In a conversation with the Sunday Independent, Morgan said he would prefer to interview the Duchess of Sussex: “I'd rather interview Meghan Markle. If she and Harry would like to sit down for a two-hour interview on Uncensored, anytime they like.”

The presenter, who has long condemned the couple’s departure from royal duties and move to the US, also clarified that he was never friends with Meghan but had met her once.

“Then she [Meghan] said she was coming to London, and when can we meet up. We went to my local pub. I thought she was perfectly nice,” he recalled.

Morgan added that his sharp commentary on the Sussexes stems from their actions after stepping back from their royal roles. Following their 2021 interview with Oprah Winfrey, the journalist said he “didn't believe a word” Meghan said during the sit-down, which sparked global debate over the couple’s treatment by the Royal Family.

Despite his history of condemnation, Morgan’s recent remarks suggest a shift in tone. It should be noted that his platform, Uncensored, has become known for hosting controversial guests and fiery interviews.

The couple have not publicly responded to Morgan’s offer.
