Ariana Grande’s attacker sentenced to just 9 days
The '7 Rings' hitmaker has not publicly addressed the encounter
The man who rushed Ariana Grande on the red carpet at the Wicked: For Good premiere in Singapore has been sentenced to nine days in jail.
Johnson Wen, a 26-year-old Australian known online as “Pyjama Man", pleaded guilty to one count of being a public nuisance following the November 13 incident.
Footage from the premiere showed Wen sprinting toward Grande, before grabbing her and pulling her close as she attempted to move away.
Co-star Cynthia Erivo and on-site security intervened immediately, helping separate the visibly shaken singer.
A Singapore judge described Wen as “attention-seeking", noting his belief that his actions would carry no consequences.
Prosecutors highlighted his “glaring lack of remorse”, despite Wen telling the court he would not repeat the behavior.
Wen has a history of storming stages at concerts and previously shared his own videos from the Ariana incident on Instagram.
Grande has not publicly addressed the encounter but posted photos from the Singapore press stop the following day, writing, “thank you, Singapore. we love you.”
Her co-star Marissa Bode later condemned Wen’s actions on TikTok, calling him “a loser” for making the singer feel unsafe.
