Adam Sandler reflection on family, fame, and gratitude ahead of 60th birthday

Adam felt grateful as he approached his 60th birthday.

While speaking with PEOPLE at the Los Angeles premiere of his new film Jay Kelly on November 11, Sandler gushed about the simple joys fame has brought him.

“I’ve had a great time on the streets, saying ‘Hi’ to kids… nothing makes me feel better,” he shared.

The Happy Gilmore star credited his wife, Jackie Sandler, and their daughters, Sadie and Sunny, for keeping him grounded.

“We’re very close. We like to talk, laugh, have fun, and take care of our kids,” he said of his family, who joined him on the red carpet.

Despite his street style obsession, Sandler dressed in a navy suit with a lilac shirt for the premiere, a look he admits is “horrendous” compared to his usual comfort wear.

Moreover, Sandler’s co-star in Jay Kelly, George Clooney, revealed he’s encouraged Sandler to embrace more traditional attire for events.

The movie is set to release on November 14 and will stream on Netflix starting December 5.
