Andrew still sticking around Windsor despite eviction notice: ‘Very specific kind of isolation’
Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor spotted out and about in rare Windsor outing
Andrew, the former Duke of York, is still staying at his “cushioned” Windsor residence, Royal Lodge, despite previous speculation that he may have left following Prince William and Kate Middleton’s move into the nearby Forest Lodge.
Recently spotted during an outing on the sprawling royal estate, the ex-Prince Andrew went horse riding while accompanied by an unidentified female companion.
The released paparazzi shots, first obtained by the Daily Mail, are dated November 17.
John McDermott, creator and producer of the podcast show Crown and Controversy, told GB News, “I think some people picture him living in a cave somewhere. The reality is more nuanced. His public life is gone, his world has shrunk dramatically, but he’ll still be living on an estate and has access to comfort.”
“It’s not Alcatraz. It’s a very specific kind of isolation — private, restricted, but still cushioned,” he added.
Following the removal of Andrew’s royal titles and honours at the behest of King Charles, it was announced that the dishonoured royal will be evicted from Windsor Great Park, where he has lived for two decades, and move into the privately-owned Sandringham Estate in Norfolk.
