Innovative offshore solutions strengthen ties between Ørsted, European partners
Ørsted is deepening its collaboration with key European partners
Ørsted is deepening its collaboration with key European partners as the tech giant rolls out innovative offshore solutions designed to reshape the region’s wind-energy landscape.
The move comes as Ørsted formally launches Osonic, a new technology platform aimed at accelerating low-noise offshore wind construction across European markets.
The company has signed a preferred supplier agreement with German infrastructure asset manager Luxcara, marking a commercial breakthrough for Osonic.
The platform’s jetting-based monopile installation method dramatically reduces underwater noise, achieving levels near natural background sound in the German Bight, while also delivering cost efficiencies.
The system was recently used at Ørsted’s Gode Wind 3 Offshore Wind Farm, reinforcing confidence among European developers.
By transitioning Osonic from a research-driven concept to a full commercial offering, Ørsted aims to license the technology and offer engineering support across European offshore wind projects.
The move aligns with Ørsted’s strategy to strengthen value creation and reinforce Europe’s competitiveness in renewable energy.
Luxcara, which has prioritised sustainable and low-noise installation methods since 2022, noted that Ørsted’s proven performance in the North Sea played a decisive role in choosing the technology.
For Ørsted, the partnership underscores growing European interest in next-generation offshore construction tools and signals the company’s commitment to expanding its technology footprint well.
