Meghan Trainor opens up about hurtful comments
Meghan Trainor has opened up about the emotional toll of harsh online comments regarding her new appearance.
During her chat with Extra, on November 18, the 31-year-old singer revealed that she has come across increased internet scrutiny after she lost 60 pounds.
"Like, all my comments were just evil, attacking me," she stated.
"I started posting pictures of myself recently, just like I always did, but for some reason, a flame went off and everyone got mad," the Made You Look hitmaker shared.
Continuing, "Just like, ‘Ew, don’t recognize you. You’re just a walking nose.’ Crazy stuff. Like, mean."
"I was like, ‘This doesn’t affect me.’ Yes, it did," Meghan admitted.
Further adding, "I cried so much. They got to me. And my therapist was like, ‘You give them a lot of power,’ and I was like, ‘Yeah, I wish I didn’t.’ So I’m trying to learn at 31 how to not give strangers power."
However, the All About That Bass singer is not only dealing with negativity online, she revealed that someone even approached her in person recently and made some shocking remarks about her looks.
"Didn’t say hi. Wasn’t like, ‘Nice to meet you.’ Was just like, ‘Yo, I saw a video of you earlier and you, like, shed all this weight,’” she said.
"I was like, ‘Hello? Nice to meet you?’”
