Why Kate Middleton’s cancer message deeply resonated with Olivia Munn?
Princess Kate announced in March 2024 that she had been diagnosed with an undisclosed cancer
Kate Middleton played a meaningful role in helping Olivia Munn through a difficult period in her life, and Munn recently expressed her gratitude.
In an appearance on Today on Wednesday, November 19, the 45-year-old actress revealed how the Princess of Wales’s words reflected her own experience.
“It was so great to hear her say it because I wasn’t able to put the words in myself,” Munn said.
She added, “A lot of people don’t talk about how hard the second part is. I actually didn’t know how to articulate it until I heard her say it.”
The New Girl actress shared that having someone as prominent as Kate acknowledge the struggle was “comforting” and something she “needed.”
For those unversed, Kate announced publicly in March 2024 that she had been diagnosed with an undisclosed cancer and was undergoing chemotherapy.
In January, the mother of three shared that she was in remission and returned to a fuller slate of royal duties.
Meanwhile, Munn revealed her bilateral breast cancer diagnosis in 2024, calling it “very aggressive” and “fast-moving.”
Her treatment included five surgeries, among them a double mastectomy, reconstruction, a lymph node dissection, and a hysterectomy with oophorectomy.
After her surgeries, Olivia Munn and partner John Mulaney welcomed a second child through surrogate.
