‘Blonde Transformation’ ranks among 2025’s hottest celebrity trends

Shades of blonde dominated beauty trends this year, largely catapulted through celebrity endorsements of the vogue movement.

While many celebrities recently dyed their hair, the commonly blonde ones also switched things up by adopting different tones of the hue.

In The Hollywood Reporter’s list recounting “Biggest Beauty Moments of 2025”, the outlet listed “Blonde Transformation” among the lineup. Tracey Cunningham was noted as 2025’s “go-to colorist for character blondification”.

‘The White Lotus’ blonde

Season three of The White Lotus, released this year, featured a trio of blonde buddies played by Michelle Monaghan, Carrie Coon, and Leslie Bibb. Tracey Cunningham was flown to the show’s location in Thailand, where she worked on “coordinating blondes to help enhance the idea of their superficial cohesion,” THR reported.

Supermodel blonde

Supermodel Bella Hadid also lent her star power to the blonde trend this year.

Perhaps the most memorable blonde moment of the year, Hadid created a huge splash with her honeyed locks at the Cannes Film Festival in May.

Pixie blonde

Brie Larson had to get a buzz cut for her leading performance in the West End show Elektra. As the Oscar winning actress’ hair grew in, she got them styled into a chic platinum blonde pixie, which she debuted back in June.

Dark blonde

Margot Robbie traded in her light blonde highlights for a darker shade during the promotions of her recent film, A Big Bold Beautiful Journey. With dark brown roots peeking from within her blonde hair, the Australian actress’ alteration kept things interesting for her post-Barbie era.

Royal blonde

One of the biggest blonde surprises from this year was Kate Middleton’s colour change in September. The Princess of Wales switched up her usually brunette look for light blonde tresses, debuting them during her anniversary trip to Scotland in April.
