Kate Middleton finds comfort in Jessie J after bonding over cancer journeys

Kate Middleton and Jessie J have found unexpected comfort in each other after their battle with cancer.

During the November 19, Royal Variety Performance, hosted at London’s Royal Albert Hall, the 43-year-old Princess of Wales and 37-year-old English singer ended up sharing a special connection.

The Princess pulled Domino hitmaker in a warm and heartfelt hug, a moment Jessie, whose real name is Jessica Ellen Cornish, explained the gesture stemmed from their shared experience with cancer.

According to The Independent, the Price Tag singer said, "Mum to mum, who has just recently gone through cancer, I just wanted to give her a hug."

"We acknowledged that it’s something that is not easy to go through, especially in the public eye," she added.

For Kate and her husband Prince William, the evening at The Royal Variety Performance was especially meaningful as it marked their first appearance on the red carpet in two years, after the Princess limited her Royal duties amid her cancer treatment in 2024.
