Ariana Grande has been hit with a major setback ahead of the highly anticipated release of Wicked: For Good.

On Thursday, November 20, the 32-year-old singer took to her Instagram Stories to post a photo from her November 18 appearance on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, revealing that she has been diagnosed with COVID.

“moments before Covid,” Ariana wrote. (sic)

Shortly after the unfortunate announcement, Variety reported that the Dangerous Woman hitmaker has withdrawn from several scheduled appearances, including her eagerly awaited spot on The Kelly Clarkson Show.

Moreover, Grande will also be missing upcoming Q&A panels for Wicked: For Good, though her co-star Cynthia Erivo will still appear on Clarkson’s show as planned.

This comes after both she and Erivo skipped most interviews at the film’s New York City premiere on November 17.

Before the event, Universal Pictures confirmed that the 38-year-old actress was unwell and had lost her voice.

This isn't the first time Grande and Erivo have contracted COVID.

During the promotion for the first Wicked film in 2024, both revealed they had caught the virus days before shooting “some of the most important works of the whole movie.”

On the professional front, Wicked: For Good, starring Ariana Grande and Cynthia Erivo, is slated to hit theatres on November 21, 2025.
