Sir David Beckham is ready to perform his first royal role, marking his first significant announcement since being knighted earlier this month.

According to PEOPLE, the former football star will represent King Charles at the 2026 RHS Chelsea Flower Show.

The soccer legend will be joining a project that shows his love for outdoor activities with the monarch’s long-standing passion for horticulture.

Beckham will work alongside horticulturist Frances Tophill to help create a “Curious Garden,” supported by Alan Titchmarsh and The King’s Foundation.

The display, set to debut next May, aims to inspire the public to reconnect with nature and explore the benefits of gardening.

Announcing the project, Beckham reflected on how his connection to nature began during childhood visits to his grandparents.

“I’ve experienced how rewarding gardening can be,” he said, adding that he hopes the exhibit encourages people to engage with the outdoors and “try something new.”

Moreover, his ties with the King’s environmental initiatives deepened earlier this year when he joined the monarch at the 2025 Chelsea Flower Show to celebrate the opening of the Highgrove Shop.
