‘Wicked: For Good’ makes waves in theaters after its highly anticipated release

Wicked: For Good has achieved the strongest preview performance of the year.

According to Variety, the film earned $30.8 million before its full release, immediately becoming the biggest preview winner of 2025.

Universal shared that this total came from several days of early screenings rather than the usual single-night rollout.

The first wave of shows began on Monday, November 17, with special events supported by Amazon Prime, which brought in $6.1 million.

More early screening followed on Wednesday, November 19, adding another $6.5 million.

On Thursday, November 20, the largest surge occurred when audiences packed theaters for double screening of Wicked and Wicked For Good, generating an $18.2 million boost.

Meanwhile, Superman held the previous 2025 preview record with $22.5 million from Thursday shows before opening to $125 million.

It is worth noting that the first Wicked movie earned $19.2 million in previews and reached $112.5 million over its opening weekend.

Wicked: For Good, starring Ariana Grande, Cynthia Erivo, Ethan Slater, and Jonathan Bailey, is currently running in theaters.
