King Charles orders major preparations at Sandringham just in time for Christmas
King Charles will lead royal family’s annual holiday celebrations at Sandringham in December
King Charles is making sure that his Sandringham estate is ready just in time for the royal family’s annual Christmas trip, by ordering a slew of renovations
According to HELLO!, the St Mary Magdalene Church near the property in Norfolk “has been renovated”, including the “pesky problem” of a creaky floorboard.
“The squeaks from a rogue floorboard distracted the congregation so much that they fought to have it replaced as part of a larger refurbishment costing almost £7,000,” the report added.
In addition to the church’s work, “Other changes inside the 16th-century building include replacing the ‘threadbare’ red carpet in the congregational pews for a sum of £4,000, cleaning the mosaic flooring and replacing the clock on the church tower.”
The parish room has also undergone suitable modifications and the total cost amounting to £6,765 “is the responsibility of the Parochial Church Council.”
It was previously reported that Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor will not join King Charles and their family for a consecutive year at Sandringham — possibly ever. The ex-Prince, who was stripped of his royal status and titles earlier this year, had last been a part of the royal Christmas celebrations in 2023.
