Louis Tomlinson makes supportive move for someone close to One Direction
The ‘Bigger Than Me’ crooner steps in with a heartfelt gesture amid difficult time
Louis Tomlinson has recently won over the internet after making a philanthropic move.
According to the Daily Mail, the 33-year-old singer funded life-saving surgery for his former One Direction team member.
He donated a four-figure sum to help the band’s former security guard, Preston Mahon, undergo bypass surgery.
Preston worked as a bodyguard for Louis, Harry Styles, Liam Payne, Niall Horan, and Zayn Malik during their time in the boy band.
Due to the blocked arteries in both legs, doctors advised him to get a bypass procedure, for which he urgently needed financial assistance.
Shortly after Louis' generous donation, Preston spoke to The Sun and extended his heartfelt gratitude to the Walls hitmaker for being there during his difficult time.
“I’m so appreciative. It means the world to me. I can’t thank him enough. Wow. I wasn’t expecting that,” the former bodyguard said.
Preston continued, “I sent Louis a text personally saying thank you. All the boys from One Direction mean the world to me.”
“I met up with all the lads again at Liam’s funeral exactly a year ago. It was the saddest time ever but a lovely reunion,” he recalled.
For the unversed, Liam Payne passed away at the age of 31 after falling from a hotel balcony in Buenos Aires, Argentina.
