Noah Centineo is in early talks to join Legendary’s ambitious live-action adaptation of Gundam, the iconic military sci-fi franchise set to make its first leap to the big screen.

According to Deadline, the 29-year-old actor would star alongside none other than Sydney Sweeney, who entered final negotiations for the film earlier this year.

The outlet had also reported in late 2024, that the Sweeth Tooth showrunner Jim Mickle will be taking on the role of director for the new Gundam movie, which is being co-developed by Legendary and Bandai Namco Filmworks, using his own script.

Mickle and his partner Linda Moran will produce the movie through their comparny Nightshade.

Gundam began its journey as an anmie in 1979. It takes place in the Universal Century, where humans live in space colonies due to Earth being over crowded due to its growing population.

Over time, the space colony inhabitants fight for their independence and ignite a war against planet Earth.

Centineo, who is best known for To All the Boys I’ve Loved Before, Black Adam, and Netflix’s The Recruit, recently completed production on Legendary’s upcoming Street Fighter reboot.

He is also set to appear in a Rambo prequel and in Iconoclast, the feature directorial debut of Gabriel Basso.
