Gavin Casalegno admits 'hesitation' over major 'Summer I Turned Pretty' plot

While Gavin Casalegno can’t wait to step into Jeremiah's shoes once again, he has revealed a major season 3 plot of The Summer I Turned Pretty that didn’t fully convince him but had to do.

Speaking to Us Weekly, at T-Mobile’s Las Vegas’ Grand Prix unveiling, the 26-year-old actor reflected on his character from the hit series, moving on from his former relationship with Belly, (Lola Tung) with Denise (Isabella Briggs), after calling off his engagement.

"It might be a little too early for him to be jumping back into a relationship, if Gavin was giving advice," The Vampire Diaries alum shared.

“But he’s not, so whatever makes him happy,” he playfully added.

While Gavin agreed that Jeremiah should do what feels right to him, he admitted he is "definitely hesitant" about the idea of him diving into another relationship so soon.

"Go for it but I am definitely hesitant about a relationship for him," he expressed.

Gavin then further gave insight on the pairing, saying, "I think Denise does see Jeremiah in a different light. Belly growing up with Jeremiah, there’s like a little bit of familiarity that might have stunted things."

"Denise is more real and brings different parts of Jeremiah out of him, but I don’t know if that is a good or bad thing," he admitted.
