Kevin and Nick Jonas poked fun at their brother Joe’s audition tape for Camp Rock.

The trio who make up the popular band The Jonas Brothers, told Entertainment Weekly that Joe’s original Camp Rock audition was such a low quality self tape that Disney executives thought it might be a prank.

"Joe got the role of Shane Gray in Camp Rock as our band was already doing its thing for a couple years," Nick began to share.

The 33-year-old singer went on to explain that they were performing anywhere they could get booked and during that time their version of Year 3000 began to gain some attention, giving them some momentum, but they still needed something big to really take off.

Continuing, "So Joe gets this call to audition for this Disney movie, and I recall us helping him do his self-tape audition in our hotel room. Like a Holiday Inn in Albuquerque or something."

"I wish we could find this footage," Kevin playfully added.

"Disney has it somewhere," the Cake by the Ocean hitmaker quipped. "In their vaults."

Since the trio were on the road, they had to film Joe’s audition with whatever resources were available to them at the time, so he could book the role.

"We used this thing called a Flip Vid," the Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle actor recalled. "It was like the first-gen of a camera that had a USB connected, and you could upload videos. We did that, but it looked terrible."

Kevin laughed as he recalled that the hotel lighting didn’t do them any favours either. "I literally held a lamp like this, pointed at him like a spotlight. It was awful."

Only after sending in the audition tape and hearing back from Disney did they see how poorly it had turned out.

"The Disney execs called our dad, who was one of our managers at the time, and were like, 'Is this a joke? This is the worst-looking video we've ever seen,'" Nick continued. "Not his audition, but the quality of the video. So we got a better tape, and he got the job."

However, things ended up working out as fans got to see Joe Jonas take on the role of Shane Gray, starring alongside Demi Lovato.
