Gavin Casalegno reveals details about 'Summer I Turned Pretty' movie script
Gavin Casalegno reflects on fan reaction towards 'The Summer I Turned Pretty'
Gavin Casalegno, who played Jeremiah Fisher in The Summer I Turned Pretty, has shared details about the script of the upcoming movie with fans.
After the series adaptation of Jenny Han’s novel of the same name came to an end after three seasons, Amazon Prime Video announced the news of a movie as a follow up of each character.
Talking to Us Weekly at the T-Mobile exclusive unveiling at the Las Vegas Grand Prix, the 26-year-old actor revealed he has little to no updates on the movie, stating, "I don’t have a script. I don’t have anything. I don’t even know when I’m filming."
“I know I’m filming next year so I don’t even know what it’s going to be about. Your guess is as good as mine.”
However, Gavin did express excitement to reprise his character once again, saying, "I hope he continues cooking. I hope he continues pursuing his own passions, but I really don’t know. I even called (creator) Jenny (Han) the other week and was like, ‘So what can you give me?’ She didn’t give me anything.”
The Vampire Diaries alum also went on to admit that now that Belly’s (Lola Tung) decision is no longer a secret, he had enjoyed building the suspense.
“I’m not going to lie, I had a blast teasing everyone being like, ‘Hey, you never know if it will be like the book,'” he recalled. “Then they start going crazy in their heads. I had a lot of fun with that. I had a lot of fun being Team Jeremiah. Honestly, I think it’s fun seeing the reactions.”
“There was definitely an expectation for (the love triangle reactions) to affect my mental health. There are so many people who can’t differentiate reality vs. fiction. But fans are just passionate about this series and that’s all I can hope for. If they didn’t care at all that would also kind of suck," he further opened up to the outlet.
