Andrew faces internal pressure to testify before Congress: Starmer calls for ‘relevant information’
Ex-Prince Andrew is being called on to provide testimony in Epstein case
Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor has now been advised by PM Keir Starmer to appear before the US Congress and provide relevant testimony in the ensuing legal battle regarding Epstein.
Starmer’s input was requested as he was making his way to South Africa for the scheduled G20 Summit.
While he initially responded with “I don’t comment on his particular case”, he was quick to follow up by saying, “But as a general principle I’ve held for a very long time is that anybody who has got relevant information in relation to these kind of cases should give that evidence to those that need it.”
“That would be my general position on this,” the PM concluded his brief take on Andrew’s matter.
However, when he was further pressed about the situation, Starmer replied, “In the end, that will be a decision for him. But my general position is if you have relevant information, you should be prepared to share it.”
For context, Andrew had received correspondence from members of the Democratic Party serving on the US House Committee on Oversight and Government Reform, November 6. Signed by 16 lawmakers, the disgraced royal was urged to “sit for a transcribed interview about his long-standing friendship with Epstein,” according to GB News.
Though the deadline for response was capped at November 20, which Andrew eventually missed.
Despite the chatter around him, Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor has continued to firmly deny the allegations made against him.
