Taylor Swift’s secret trip for new music video: ‘It was like a military operation’
Taylor Swift recently shot music video for ‘Elizabeth Taylor’
Taylor Swift is doing everything she can to prepare a fitting tribute for Elizabeth Taylor — including secretly flying to the late icon’s hometown of London.
According to newly emerged reports, the pop star had jetted off to the English capital last weekend, where she filmed a music video for her album’s song named after the legendary British-American actress.
Regarding Swift’s latest mission, a source reported to The Sun, “This video was shrouded in secrecy, with Taylor’s security team working day and night to ensure she wasn’t sighted at any point. It was like a military operation.”
However, the insider continued, “But she is the most powerful woman in pop, so if she wants to go unseen, she’ll make it happen.”
While the Daily Mail disclosed that the location for the yet-to-be announced music video was the “partially-derelict Whitgift shopping centre in Croydon”, where the Grammy winning artist was joined by peers like Scottish musician Lewis Capaldi and Irish actor Domhnall Gleeson.
Elizabeth Taylor is part of Taylor Swift’s 12th studio album, The Life of a Showgirl. She had gushed about the song’s titular inspiration in an interview with the radio show Z100 New York, saying, “She is always someone that I’ve looked up to as being this very glamorous, very beloved, but for some reason a polarizing figure — which, I’ve found myself in that place, too.”
