Princess Kate's tech warning mirrors Prince Harry’s concerns amid explosive royal drama
Princess of Wales and Prince Harry unite in tech warning as royal scandal deepens
Princess Kate is doing her best to educate people about the importance of family life and the disruptions technology tends to pose, echoing concerns previously raised by Prince Harry amid ongoing royal drama.
According to GB News, the Princess of Wales has warned of “technoference,” a term widely used for technology-based interference which disturbs interpersonal relationships.
Kate’s Royal Foundation Centre for Early Childhood has urged researchers to submit proposals to address the harm technology can cause to parent-child relationships.
The centre will be providing grants worth £100,000 to the selected study, which will collaborate with families nationwide to examine the root causes of gadget-related distractions and develop solutions for parents.
The executive director of the Royal Foundation Centre for Early Childhood, Christian Guy, said, "There have been numerous studies about how digital devices impact relationships, but there is currently a lack of evidence about what is causing people to turn to their digital devices at times when it is interrupting family life and, importantly, how to help people reduce this unwanted interference.”
“The centre is seeking to address these gaps in research so we find the solutions to make a real difference to families' lives," he continued.
Moreover, Kate also shared her opinion about technology’s adverse impact on family life in an essay co-written with Professor Robert Waldinger of Harvard’s Study of Adult Development department.
It is worth noting that Princess Kate’s brother-in-law, Harry, has also spoken out about the rising dangers posed by phones and social media.
The Duke of Sussex opened up about why he and Meghan Markle have refused to share photos of their children.
He warned parents that they "should be really worried" about putting pictures of their kids online due to the "surge of unregulated AI."
Princess Kate’s essay came amid the royal family’s rift due to Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor’s longtime connection with sex offender Jeffrey Epstein.
