Sydney Sweeney opens up about biggest challenge following split from fiancé Jonathan Davino
The ‘Anyone But You’ actress ended her seven-year relationship with Jonathan Davion in March
Sydney Sweeney recently made a bombshell admission about something she constantly struggles with, following her split from Jonathan Davino in March 2025, after seven years togteher.
In a candid conversation with Sky News about her latest film Christy, a biopic about renowned boxer Christy Martin, the 28-year-old actress revealed that she finds it “hard” to ask for help.
Sweeney shared that this trait was a shared feeling between her and the character she portrays in her new film, highlighting the boxer’s obstacles as a gay woman and the domestic violence inflicted on her by her husband and coach.
"I have a really hard time with asking for help and my friends recently have really pointed that out to me, and they're like, 'Sydney, it's okay to ask. Like, you can'. There's nothing wrong with it, but I have a really hard time with it,” she confessed.
The Euphoria star added, "I think it's hard, especially as a woman, there's so many expectations on us to have it all together.”
"And if we do ask for help, then it's a sign of weakness. And we don't want to be viewed that way, even though [a man] can ask for it, and no one's like, 'ah, he's weak'. But if a woman director asks for help, it'd be like, 'oh, she's not prepared for this role,’” she explained.
Sydney Sweeney’s upcoming project, The Housemaid, is scheduled to be released on December 19.
