Adam Sandler recently shared his first humbling yet hilarious meeting with George Clooney, with whom he also shares the screen in the latest release Jay Kelly.

Speaking to The New York Times, the 59-year-old actor reflected on his first encounter with the 64-year-old actor on the set of Saturday Night Live in 1995.

Sandler later joined him at a Knicks game, where he immediately understood the gravity of Clooney’s stardom following his hit show ER.

"It was at the height of 'ER', and I went to a Knicks game with George. I remember feeling as invisible as I’ve ever felt. I thought I was becoming a star, and I was like, 'Oh, not a soul’s looking at me,'" the Happy Gilmore actor said.

He added with a laugh, "Every woman in the place was looking at him, every guy’s going, 'Man, I wish I was that guy.’”

Clooney stars as the titular movie star in Jay Kelly, embarking on “a whirlwind and unexpectedly profound journey through Europe” with his “devoted” manager Ron, played by Sandler.

“Along the way, both men are forced to confront the choices they've made, the relationships with their loved ones, and the legacies they’ll leave behind,” the movie’s official synopsis reads.

Jay Kelly, starring Adam Sandler and George Clooney, initially premiered in limited theaters on November 14, while it will arrive on Netflix December 5.
