Lizzo recently made a mind-blowing confession about body positivity after blasting the trend of using Ozempic, a prescription medication used to treat type 2 diabetes that's increasingly being used off-label for weight loss.

The 37-year-old singer spoke out about her thoughts about her weight loss journey in a candid personal essay published on Substack on Sunday, November 23.

Titled as Why is everybody losing weight and what do we do? Sincerely, a person who’s lost weight, the About Damn Time singer penned, "People could not see my talent as a musician because they were too busy accusing me of making ‘being fat’ my whole personality."

Lizzo, whose real name is Melissa Viviane Jefferson, went on to say that she is “still a proud big girl” despite her dramatic weight loss journey.

The Pink hitmaker, who currently weighs over 200 lbs, also stressed upon that she feels plus-size women are becoming “erased” in the age of weight-loss drugs

"We’re in an era where the bigger girls are getting smaller because they’re tired of being judged,” said the singer, adding, “So here we are halfway through the decade, where extended sizes are being magically erased from websites.”

According to the Special songstress, plus-sized models are no longer getting booked for modeling gigs.

In the end, the Truth Hurts musician made sure to fight back against the body-shaming as she wrote. “We have a lot of work to do, to undo the effects of the Ozempic boom.”

For the unversed, Lizzo has reportedly lost around 60 pounds in total since 2023.
