James Cameron is reportedly consumed by anxiety ahead of the release of his directional movie, Avatar: Fire and Ash, set to be released on December 19, 2025.

The 71-year-old film titan’s closed ones told Radar Online that he is drowning in anxiety, however, his concern centers around war, wildfires, and climate change.

His concern was visible in a wide-ranging interview with a movie magazine, where Cameron was asked about the themes running through the Avatar series, to which, he responded, "Loss."

According to the filmmaker, he felt compelled to explore its meaning and consequences and believes that big commercial movies, like superhero blockbusters, often miss the mark when covering this topic.

Now, people around him are concerned that his reflections on the state of the climate change-ravaged globe have become increasingly personal.

"He talks about loss in terms of the planet – what we're losing, what can't be replaced," one source dished out, adding, "It scares him because he doesn't think we understand how close we are to tipping points. But he's also fearing for the future of humanity in the face of it all."
