Timothée Chalamet recently left Gwyneth Paltrow feeling embarrassed after an awkward encounter on the set of their forthcoming film, Marty Supreme.
The 29-year-old actor’s dramatic makeup transformation led the 53-year-old actress to mistakenly believe he had real skin damage, eventually prompting her to offer him unsolicited skincare advice.
During the latest episode of The Run-Through with Vogue podcast, Paltrow explained that in the Josh Safdie-directed movie, Chalamet “has pockmarks, and they made his eyes beady with contacts and glasses.”
“And it’s all makeup. And he has in real life, he has beautiful skin,” she clarified.
Paltrow admitted she wasn’t aware of the extent of Chalamet’s facial makeup and prosthetics, which resulted in the embarrassing on-set interaction.
“He made a comment, and I was like, ‘Oh, you know, you can do micro needling for that,’” she recalled.
The Goop founder added, “And he's like, ‘This is makeup!’ I was like, I didn't realise. The makeup was so good that I thought he had little acne scars.”
Timothée Chalamet and Gwyneth Paltrow’s Marty Supreme is slated to be released in theatres on December 25.
