Scarlett Johansson is reportedly being considered for a new role that could become another high-stakes milestone in her long-standing career.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, the 41-year-old actress is in talks to shift from the Marvel Cinematic Universe to DC, joining Robert Pattinson in the highly anticipated The Batman II.

Johansson is reportedly in “final negotiations” to join the cast, but her character details are still being kept under wraps.

Additionally, Zoë Kravitz, who played Selina Kyle/Catwoman in the first movie, is not returning for the sequel, per Variety.

The Batman II will continue the story from the 2022 film directed by Matt Reeves, with Pattinson reprising his role as Bruce Wayne/Batman.

While the plot for the upcoming sequel remains a secret, development has been underway since the first film’s release in 2022.

The script is being written by Reeves and Mattson Tomlin, with Warner Bros. confirming that filming is set to start in spring 2026.

It is worth noting that The Batman II is slated to hit theaters on October 1, 2027, more than five years after the release of the first movie.
