James Van Der Beek skips show due to medical issue
The ‘Dawson’s Creek’ star reveals shocking reason for missing ‘Today Show’
James Van Der Beek recently skipped his attending Today Show due to medical issue.
For the unversed, Beek, according to NBC's schedule, was set to appear on the show on Friday, December 5, to talk about his cancer journey.
Now, while revealing the reason, the 48-year-old actor, who had been diagnosed with stage 3 colorectal cancer in November 2024, took to Instagram and posted a photo of himself and one of his children, revealing that he has been suffering from pink eye, a "most common and treatable eye conditions" that is "very contagious".
"Tell me you have kids without telling me you have kids," the Dawson's Creek alum captioned the photo, adding, "Having to postpone a @today show appearance because of pink eye."
The actor then apologised again to the Today Show and Craig Melvin, who holds the show's top anchor seat.
The father of six children concluded the post, noting, "Sorry @today @craigmelvinnbc for having to push," he wrote. "Pink eye(s) almost cleared up. See you Dec. 17."
On the work front, James Van Der Beek, who is married to film producer Kimberly, has officially been cast as a recurring guest star in the upcoming Legally Blonde prequel series, Elle.
