Sydney Sweeney offers key advice to young performers facing rejection
The ‘Euphoria’ star reveals the advice she wishes all aspiring actors would hear
Sydney Sweeney recently offered a valuable piece of advice to aspiring young actors hoping to excel in the buzzing world of Hollywood.
Speaking to PEOPLE at the New York premiere of her new film The Housemaid, the 28-year-old actress shared the one thing young performers should remember.
"Honestly, do it as long as you love it,” Sweeney said.
She noted that in a field full of rejection, passion is the only thing you can truly rely on.
“You have to love it a lot, because it’s really hard, and you’re going to be told ‘no’ more than you’re told ‘yes.’ If you love it to your core, none of that matters because you’re getting to do what you love,” the Euphoria star stated.
Sweeney’s own career kicked off in 2009, with guest appearances on renowned shows like Grey’s Anatomy and Pretty Little Liars.
Her breakthrough occurred in the late 2010s with key roles in The Handmaid’s Tale, Sharp Objects, and Once Upon a Time… in Hollywood.
The actress’s global prominence grew with Euphoria, followed by appearances in The White Lotus, Immaculate, Anyone but You, Madame Web, and Christy, alongside her work as an emerging producer.
Looking back on her early years, Sweeney shared that she always loved the audition process.
“You get to explore different characters. If you want to pursue this as a kid, make sure you truly love it,” she admitted.
Sydney Sweeney's upcoming project The Housemaid is slated to be released in theaters on December 19.
