Sabrina Carpenter takes home major honour as this year's 'Hitmaker'
The ‘Espresso’ singer shines after earning Variety’s Hitmaker of the Year title
Sabrina Carpenter has been honoured with a major career milestone, leaving fans swooning over her.
On Saturday, December 6, Variety hosted its 2025 edition of the Hitmakers Awards in Los Angeles, where the 26-year-old pop icon was bestowed the special accolade.
Carpenter earned recognition for her latest album, Man’s Best Friend, which was released on August 29.
She lit up the stage while receiving the award and delivered a heartfelt speech in front of an ardent crowd cheering for her.
In her speech, the Manchild songstress, who began writing songs at age 10, shared a lighthearted piece of advice, saying, “The easiest way to write a bad song is to try to write a hit.”
“Write the opposite of what you think a hit is. Write what speaks to you, write something that only you can write. Write the music you want to listen to yourself. Add the weird chord progression and key change, and call men stupid in as many ways as you can,” she added.
Toward the end, Carpenter extended her heartiest gratitude to her fans for being her biggest support system.
“Thank you to the fans that made these hits. Thank you to the fans that learn the lyrics and sing the songs and make them hits — whatever that means,” she concluded.
It is worth noting that this accomplishment comes just days after Sabrina Carpenter wrapped up her headline-grabbing Short n’ Sweet Tour on November 23.
