Meghan Markle has reportedly made “progress” in the efforts to reach her estranged father, Thomas Markle, following his leg amputation surgery in the Philippines.

According to GB News, while a “direct contact” is yet to be established, a source has shared that “it’s hoped and expected that there will be some form of communication in the next 24 hours.”

“Mr. Markle has since moved out of intensive care into a standard hospital ward and begun gentle physiotherapy as part of the early stages of his recovery,” it was further reported.

Amid the ongoing attempts, a spokesperson for the As Ever founder had claimed last Friday that she has “reached out” to her father after news of his “life or death” surgery broke out.

However, Thomas Markle himself denied the claims shortly after, sharing that the reports of his daughter making contact with him left him feeling “confused” and said in a video message thereafter that he hopes the latest crisis will “help tear down the walls between us and bring our family back together.”

Meghan Markle has been estranged from her father since 2018, when she went down the aisle for Prince Harry.
