Meghan Markle’s newly delivered communication ‘safely’ reaches Thomas Markle
Meghan Markle has finally reached her estranged father in the Philippines
Meghan Markle has succeeded in her attempts to reach Thomas Markle, her estranged father who is currently hospitalised in the Philippines following a leg amputation surgery.
According to The Telegraph, the Duchess of Sussex communicated with the former TV lighting director via a letter, which “had taken several days to arrive, with sources close to the Duchess citing challenges in the time difference and logistics.”
Previously, it was shared that Meghan had attempted to contact Thomas through an e-mail which has reportedly not been in his use for five years.
Her representatives additionally called out the media’s treatment of the matter, saying that “it has been exceedingly difficult for the Duchess to contact her father privately, despite her efforts over the past several days.”
“With the support of reliable and trusted contacts, her correspondence is now safely in his hands,” the As Ever founder’s spokesperson confirmed.
Thomas Markle was admitted for surgery on December 3, after he had developed a potentially fatal blood clot in his left leg. The news made several headlines for arriving the same day as the premiere of Meghan Markle’s Netflix special, With Love, Meghan: Holiday Celebration.
