Jennifer Lawrence, Josh Hutcherson to reunite in 'Hunger Games' prequel?
The highly anticipated prequel is seemingly set to release on November 20, 2026
Jennifer Lawrence and Josh Hutcherson are reportedly returning to the Hunger Games universe in next year’s highly anticipated prequel.
Set for release November 20, 2026, the 35-year-old actress will repirse her role as Katniss Everdeen, and the 33-year-old actor will be returning as Peeta Mellark, as per The Hollywood Reporter and Deadline.
Directed by Francis Lawrence, the film serves as the second prequel to the four Hunger Games movies starring Lawrence and Hutcherson, originally released between 2012 and 2015.
Reports suggest the actors will appear in a flash-forward sequence adapted from Suzanne Collins’ new novel, which the film is based on.
Variety reported that Sunrise on the Reaping is set 24 years before Katniss and Peeta entered the Games.
The film is assembling an amazing cast, including Ralph Fiennes, Jesse Plemons, Joseph Zada, Glenn Close, and Mckenna Grace.
