Anthony Hopkins recently revealed he's given stern warning to young actors over the years.

The Hannibal star called out some young stars especially those who "mumble" in their performances.

"Young actors tend to mumble," said the 87-year-old while speaking onstage at an event during the 2025 Red Sea Film Festival in Saudi Arabia on December 10.

Anthony confessed that some of these actors try to replicate "Marlon Brando".

However, the two-time Oscar winner noted that Marlon was "the greatest technician of all".

"He understood everything. He was a very smart man, and he knew how to do it," remarked the Meet Joe Black actor.

Anthony recalled speaking to a young actor who was trying to "mumble" their lines at the time.

"I said, 'You'll have no career left if you're mumbling. Your part in this movie is to tell a story.' The art in this movie is to tell a story. It's nothing to do with makeup or being late on set. You're paid to be there on time or go," explained The Silence of Lambs actor.

Anthony further said that he "worked with an actor fairly recently, some years and I've never heard of him since".

"He's probably a good actor and they had this thing that he's going to be James Dean but Brando and Dean and all those guys, all those so-called great method actors, they knew what they were doing, Brando, particularly," added the Red Dragon actor.

Elsewhere in the conversation, Anthony also shared that her wife of 23 years Stella was his inspiration for him to create his own 2007 movie, Slipstream.
