Kanye West’s explosive documentary ‘In Whose Name’ set to thrill streaming audiences
Kanye West’s ‘In Whose Name’ originally premiered in cinemas on September 19
The documentary featuring Kanye West’s wildly controversial antics, In Whose Name will make its streaming debut on December 14.
Slated to be released on Apple, Amazon, Google/YouTube, and available for a few select territories via Fandango, the film will begin streaming at midnight.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, “The doc chronicles West’s bipolar diagnosis, his mental health struggles, the demolition of his marriage to Kim Kardashian, and his controversies over the years.”
While its director, Nico Ballesteros, hailed his project’s reception in a new statement: “I am humbled at the reception this movie has gotten from audiences, critics, and my peers in the filmmaking community.”
“By extending its reach beyond the theater, the film brings its exploration of American belief, power and identity to a global audience, offering a deeper understanding of America’s contradictions while illuminating the life and legacy of one of the most iconic entertainers of our time,” he added.
The documentary film features high profile appearances from the likes of Donald Trump, Elon Musk, Jay-Z, Rihanna, Drake, Sean “Diddy” Combs, Lady Gaga, and even the late podcaster Charlie Kirk, among several others.
West’s ex-wife Kim Kardashian is also included, whose tense interaction with the rapper in 2018 became part of the project.
“You’re losing... everyone around you is like... there’s a way to talk about what you feel. But when you’re this dramatic…,” Kardashian is heard telling her former husband over a call.
To which he responds, “I don’t care about the music business. I don’t care about the work field. I’m in a slave business. I’m a slave to Universal. What are you talking about? Of course they’re losing.”
Kanye West and Kim Kardashian, who share four children together, divorced in November 2022 after the reality star filed to end their nearly seven-year marriage in February 2021.
