Leonardo DiCaprio says he doesn’t have a desire to direct
The ‘One Battle After Another’ actor dishes out why he would never want to direct
Leonardo DiCaprio is keeping his priorities straight, making it clear he doesn't have plans to transition to directing anytime soon.
The 51-year-old actor had a chat with acclaimed filmmaker, Martin Scorsese during TIME magazine’s A Year in TIME event in New York City on December 10.
During the conversation, the Killers of the Flower Moon actor admitted, "Some people have asked me if I wanted to direct. I'm like, ‘I would never want to direct. I could never do anything close to what Martin Scorsese does. Why would I do that?"
DiCaprio went on to say, "You play these characters, you try to get into the depth of their soul as much as you possibly can. And I would've loved to be much more of a voyeur … to watch what you (Scorsese) do behind the camera."
According to the Titanic star, if he looks back on anything, he would've loved to have observed that process behind the camera a lot more.
On the professional front, Leonardo DiCaprio is involved in other projects as a producer, like the development of Cat's Cradle.
