Tyra Banks wants this iconic ’90s trend back
The former supermodel also addresses the unexpected viral success of her hot ice cream
Tyra Banks said fashion doesn’t need to be complicated to make a comeback.
The former supermodel spoke with PEOPLE at the Cirque du Soleil LUDÕ world premiere in Nuevo Vallarta, Mexico. She shared that the one 90s trend she wants revived is black string chokers.
“So simple, so cheap,” Banks said. “Please come back. Make it happen.”
The accessory, popular in the early 1990s, was often handmade from black ribbon or string. Banks said its appeal was its ease minimal, affordable and effortless.
The 52-year-old also addressed the unexpected viral success of her latest venture: hot ice cream.
Launched in September through her brand Smize & Dream, the warm dessert drink has surged on social media.
“I never in a million years thought it would be viral,” Banks said. “It’s beyond my expectations.”
Moreover, Tyra made a surprising comeback in October 2024, by closing Victoria's Secret Fashion Show nearly after two decades after she retired from modeling in 2005.
