Sigoumey Weaver explained in a new interview that her characters’ romantic moment did not involve actually kissing her young costar Jack Champion in Avatar: Fire and Ash.

For the unversed, the 76-year-old actress returns as Kiri, a Na'vi teenager and adopted daughter of Neytiri and Jake Sully, in James Cameron's directional Avatar 3.

Kiri, the CGI-created character, shares a playful romantic kiss with Spider, played by Jack Champion, who filmed Avatar scenes between ages 14-16

Recently, the Alien star told The Hollywood Reporter about the sensitive scene, “We had to be very delicate about that scene because it included a kiss, Obviously I wasn’t going to kiss Jack, who was 14 or 15, in real life.”

Sigourney revealed that she and the 71-year-old director "asked Jack to pick someone I could kiss and he did.”

The Copycat actress recalled, “Then I imagine when I wasn’t there, they picked someone appropriate for Jack. That concern about all of that, which is quite legitimate, was going on.”

Moreover, when Sigourney Weaver saw the scene, she remarked, “I believed it. It’s so genuine between the two of them and any concern about Jack’s real age and my real age, I think there’s no room for it there.”

Its worth mentioning that the Avatar: Fire and Ash was released on December 19, 2025.
