Brigitte Bardot’s final days: Late French icon went out doing what she loved

Brigitte Bardot passed away at the age of 91 on December 28, and while not much is known about the cause of her death or whereabouts at the time, she went out while working towards her lifelong passion — animal rights.

The French star was last spotted in an Instagram post shared by Fondation Brigitte Bardot a day before her death.

Featuring a “young Doberman” named Urphé, the organisation’s founder was seen petting the young rescue.

“Following the departure of his owner in EHPAD, Urphé was placed on a pension for a year before being bequeathed to the Brigitte Bardot Foundation and integrated into one of our shelters,” the caption, translated from French, revealed.

According to Fox News Digital, “The posts offered a striking final portrait of Bardot, who famously walked away from stardom at the height of her career and spent the rest of her life fiercely advocating for animals.”

While Bruno Jacquelin, from Brigitte Bardot’s foundation, told AP News that the screen icon had died at her home in southern France.
