A gunman is on the run after spraying bullets inside a Kentucky Fried Chicken in North Carolina and leaving with just $1 for his trouble.
Police in Goldsboro say the chaos unfolded shortly after 8pm on Saturday at a KFC on East Ash Street, reports WNCN.
Officers reached the spot after a ShotSpotter alert flagged 17 rounds of gunfire coming from the restaurant. Moments later, emergency calls confirmed the fast-food outlet had been robbed, according to local police.
Investigators say the suspect fired repeatedly before stealing a single dollar from the business. Despite the dramatic show of force, police report no information so far on the suspect’s identity.
The gunman now faces serious consequences. Officers say the suspect could be charged with felony robbery with a dangerous weapon, along with other charges.
Police remain actively on the hunt and are urging anyone with information to come forward.
