Tommy Lee Jones and his family share first statement since Victoria Jones’ death

The family of Tommy Lee Jones have broken their silence following the unexpected death of his daughter, Victoria Jones.

“We appreciate all of the kind words, thoughts, and prayers. Please respect our privacy during this difficult time. Thank you,” the grieving family briefly told PEOPLE.

The publication had previously reported that the tragic incident was revealed to be “code 3 for the overdose, color change”, according to a dispatch call which was later obtained by them.

Victoria, 34 at the time of her passing, was discovered unresponsive at the San Francisco Fairmont Hotel during the early hours of January 1.

While the hotel’s press director, Michelle Heston, initially told PEOPLE, “We are deeply saddened by an incident that occurred at the hotel on January 1, 2026. Our heartfelt condolences are with the family and loved ones during this very difficult time.”

Despite the multiple statements about Victoria’s demise, no official cause of death has yet been ruled, with the San Francisco Police Department currently conducting an investigation into the proceedings.

Victoria Jones had been arrested twice in the last two years, once for drug possession, while a police insider recently shared with NBC Bay Area that the department does not suspect foul play in her death.
