Reiner family showed warning signs years before tragic murder
Rob Reiner and his wife Michele were murdered by their own son in December 2025
A shocking yet heartbreaking development has surfaced in Rob Reiner and his wife Michele Singer Reiner's murder case, weeks after their tragic killing.
Records obtained by PEOPLE revealed that years before the tragic murder, police responded to welfare check calls at the late Hollywood director’s Los Angeles home on at least two occasions.
As per details, the cops went to the Brentwood home, where the couple was found dead on December 14, 2025, twice in 2019 in February and later in September.
The first call, coded as a welfare check, was placed on February 25, by a woman, according to LAPD records.
Officers arrived at the home at 10:12 p.m., completed the call, and reported the incident to a supervisor.
The officers, who arrived at the couple’s Los Angeles home, reported the incident to a supervisor, but there's no further information available about what happened during the visit.
Then months later on September 27, police responded to another call, classified as mental health–related, by a man.
Officers arrived at the residence sometimes later and informed a supervisor that they found “no indication of mental illness”.
It’s worth mentioning here that Rob Reiner and his wife, Michele, were found dead in their Brentwood home on December 14, 2025, by their daughter, Romy Reiner.
She was the first one to discover their bodies and called 911 after fleeing the scene.
The late couple was found with multiple stab wounds, and their middle child, Nick Reiner, has been charged with two counts of first-degree murder.
