Miley Cyrus calls out photographer at Palm Springs International Film Awards
Miley Cyrus shut down photographer’s demands with confidence at the red carpet
Miley Cyrus clapped back at an outspoken photographer on the red carpet at the Palm Springs International Film Awards 2026.
The Flowers singer stepped out in an all-black look on January 3 in Palm Springs, California, wearing a sharp Tom Ford suit with sculptural shoulders, wide lapels and a plunging neckline, paired with pointed stilettos.
Cyrus initially posed for photos holding her sunglasses before putting them on, a move that sparked backlash from one photographer.
In a video shared by the New York Post’s Page Six that quickly went viral, a cameraman can be heard shouting, “No! No! No! No!” as Cyrus slipped on the glasses, joined by groans from others who appeared to want her to pose without them.
The 33-year-old pop star was quick to respond, telling the photographer, “If you yell at me, I do the opposite. I’ve known you for 20 years. If you tell me not to put the glasses on, I put them on.”
She added, “Just go, ‘Oh, I love the glasses!’ and I’ll take the glasses off.”
After the exchange, the We Can’t Stop hitmaker returned to the step and repeat, continuing to pose while holding the sunglasses in her hand.
The singer also twinned with her mother, Tish Cyrus, who wore an all black blazer set and sunglasses.
For the unversed, during the ceremony, Miley Cyrus was honoured with the Outstanding Artistic Achievement Award for her song Dream as One from James Cameron’s Avatar: Fire and Ash.
