Dog killed in Colorado apartment chaos

A dog was shot and killed by police in Colorado after biting two people and charging at officers, local authorities have said.

According to KKTV, officers were called to an apartment near International Circle and South Parkside Drive, east of Memorial Park, on Monday night following multiple reports of a dog on the loose attacking people.

Police said the dog bit two individuals, one of whom was treated at the scene. No one required hospitalisation.

When officers arrived, they say the dog charged at them, prompting them to shoot it. The animal was later taken by animal law enforcement and did not survive.

Authorities also took the dog’s owner into custody on charges related to dangerous animals, the Colorado police confirmed.
