Inside Taylor Swift's reaction to Travis Kelce gunfire incident
Taylor Swift feared for Travis Kelce amid NFL chaos
Kansas City was accustomed to NFL celebrations but it was a shocking turn of events when the Chiefs Super Bowl parade took place in February 2024.
During the celebrations, shooting broke out in downtown Kansas City killing one and injuring at least 22 others. The fans, families and players were all panicking and emergency responders scrambled up to control the situation.
Taylor Swift, the pop superstar, was in Australia on her Eras Tour, when she received news of the shooting urgently through her security team.
Worried about her boyfriend, Travis Kelce, a tight end with the Chiefs, Swift tried to get in touch with him. There were no calls and messages answered, however, which contributed to the nervousness.
The delay was explained by the fact that Kelce himself was ill and celebrating the championship and his phone was in his pocket at the wrong time. With the commotion, another player of Chiefs came up and talked with Swift to calm her down about the safety of Kelce.
It is said that Swift was still very much worried but was relieved when she got to know that Kelce was not hurt.
In a similar development, Kelce has recently confessed that his health might also cut short his NFL career. Although the parade is traumatic, both Kelce and Swift are said to be focused on recovery and safety.
The event serves as a reminder of how uncontrollable mega celebrations are and the excessive attention given to high profile personalities, and the personal experience of Swift and Kelce indicates the human component in NFL victories.
