Sophie Turner to enthral fans in new Tomb Raider series
Prime Video has unveiled the first look at the 'Game of Thrones' actress as Lara Croft
Sophie Turner has officially taken on one of gaming’s most iconic roles.
Prime Video has unveiled the first look at the 29-year-old actress as Lara Croft as production begins on its upcoming Tomb Raider television series.
Created by Fleabag’s Phoebe Waller-Bridge, the new adaptation marks Turner’s debut as the legendary archaeologist and adventurer.
In the newly released image, Turner appears in Croft’s signature look, complete with a tank top, shorts, a leather backpack, and a thigh holster, signaling a faithful yet refreshed take on the beloved character. Filming is now underway in Los Angeles.
Turner previously said Lara Croft has long inspired her as a fearless figure in a male-dominated world, calling the role both empowering and deeply personal.
The series boasts a high-profile supporting cast, including Sigourney Weaver as Evelyn Wallis, a powerful figure eager to exploit Lara’s talents; Jason Isaacs as her uncle, Atlas DeMornay; and Celia Imrie as a champagne-loving British Museum executive.
Waller-Bridge has described bringing Tomb Raider to television as a dream project, praising Turner as a “formidable” choice to carry the franchise forward.
The new series aims to reintroduce Lara Croft to a new generation, blending action, wit, and adventure for Prime Video audiences.
