Sophie Turner and Kit Harington are reuniting with a dark and unexpected twist.

The former Game of Thrones costars, who famously played siblings Sansa Stark and Jon Snow, star opposite each other as love interests in the Gothic horror film The Dreadful

PEOPLE has unveiled the exclusive first trailer ahead of the film’s February 20 release.

Set in medieval England, the story follows Anne (Turner), a young woman left behind when her husband fails to return from war.

Living on society’s fringes, she is trapped under the control of her sinister mother-in-law, Morwen (Marcia Gay Harden) when she forms a forbidden bond with Jago (Harington), a battle-worn soldier.

The blood-soaked trailer teases growing intimacy between Anne and Jago, set against an atmosphere of fear and violence as Morwen’s crimes escalate and whispers of a curse emerge.

“Demons walk the earth in the shape of men,” Morwen warns, hinting at the supernatural forces closing in.

Director Natasha Kermani praised Turner as the emotional core of the film and called reuniting her with Harington “pure joy,” adding that the cast endured harsh conditions to bring the Gothic folktale to life.

The Dreadful debuts digitally on February 20, marking a chilling new chapter for one of television’s most iconic duos.
