Lala Kent has opened up about a shocking health scare she experienced on a vacation in Hawaii.

On the January 14 episode of her iHeartRadio podcast Untraditionally Lala, the 35-year-old reality star detailed how a bug bite triggered a rare allergic reaction, causing “oozing” boils across her chest and back.

Kent described the ordeal to her mother, Lisa Burningham, after seeing Bethenny Frankel’s recent Instagram post about a bacterial infection she contracted on vacation.

“I wake up one morning and I look at my body and there's like what looks to be little bites… they're becoming bigger and weird, and itchy,” Kent recalled.

The Vanderpump Rules alum called the outbreak “full-blown disgusting” and said she became “patient zero” as medical staff tested the boils, some of whom wore hazmat suits while lancing them.

Testing confirmed she did not have a bacterial infection, staph, chickenpox, or monkeypox.

Concerned about scarring, Kent visited a dermatologist and was prescribed a steroid, two creams, an oral steroid, and an antibiotic.

A biopsy ultimately revealed the reaction was consistent with a rare allergic response to a bug bite. “Mine was not bacterial like Bethenny Frankel’s,” she clarified.

Kent’s candid recount highlights the unpredictable and sometimes frightening side effects of insect bites during tropical travel, even for the healthiest of individuals.
