Heartbreaking shooting in California claims three lives

Three family members suffered death and fourth one escaped, barely injured after a shooting occurred at a home in Lakewood, California on Thursday morning.

LASD Lt. Daniel Vizcarra reported in a press conference that deputies of the Los Angeles County Sheriff Department Lakewood Station received a deadly weapon assault call at a residence in the 5800 block of Lorelei Avenue, shortly before 8 a.m on Jan. 15.

Deputies found two females and one male with gunshot wounds to the upper bodies when they arrived.

The three were all declared dead on the spot. According to various news sources, the victims have been mentioned as 52-year-old Hector Lionel Alfaro, his 48-year-old wife, and the 17-year-old daughter of the couple. Officials never published names of the minors.

Another 19 year old woman in the house was also shot, but she had no injuries. LASD referred to her as being so distraught when she ran out of the house after the incident.

The LASD asked PEOPLE to contact them indicating that at this point they had no further information to provide. The facts about the shooting and the relations between the people involved are still under investigation by the investigators.
