Gwyneth Paltrow shares surprising details on filming 'sex scenes' with Timothée Chalamet

Gwyneth Paltrow has finally spoken about an on-screen experience that sparked quiet curiosity long before audiences saw it unfold.

While promoting Marty Supreme, the Oscar-winning actress reflected on filming a surprising number of intimate scenes with her much younger co-star, Timothée Chalamet, offering a refreshingly candid take on what it was really like behind the camera.

During a recent Q&A in Santa Monica, Paltrow, 53, admitted she initially questioned how the dynamic might feel. 

"He was 27 or 28, and I was 50-whatever, and, I mean, it's weird," Paltrow told Demi Moore, who was involved in the film screening and the following Q&A.

"And I [thought], 'Oh, if it's weird for me, then it's going to probably really weird for [him],' but actually, it was fine," she said.

"It was a lot of sex scenes ... and I was sort of worried about it too, just having not done all that kind of thing in so long, but it was very comfortable, and it was fine," Paltrow added.

With Chalamet in his late 20s at the time of filming, the age gap briefly gave her pause. 

Still, she said the concern quickly faded once cameras rolled. “It wasn’t that weird,” she explained, noting that the process turned out to be far more comfortable than expected.

Ultimately, she described the experience as easy and professional, crediting Chalamet’s confidence and commitment on set.

The pair first made headlines in 2024 when they were photographed filming a kiss-heavy scene in Central Park.

Marty Supreme, also starring Odessa A’zion and Fran Drescher, is now playing in theaters.
